Thanks to the wonderful efforts of Mr Leadfoot, a history of Speedcar racing in NSW & the SANSW itself has now been documented on the 'History' page of the NSW Speedcar website!

Great piece of history Bill. How lucky was I to be associated with Eric Morton from 1968 till his death. A more dedicated and passionate man about speedcars you could not find.I will never forget his first words to me when I was introduced to him as a prospective crew member,DON"T TOUCH THE SPANNERS!!! I was even lucky enough to work for the company that he founded along with John May and eventually owing and operating it for some 14 years. Morton & may Wheels founded in 1951 and still operating under the control of Graham & Jayden Edge. History still in the Making!!!

No Al no misinterpration,I owned and ran it for fourteen years. Just before Eric died the company was taken over by Ron Liddel who in turn handed it over to Barry Pinchbeck who was Erics driver at the time. After working for Barry for seven years he wanted to retire so I bought the company of him. And so it goes on.

NICE!! Well I got a wheel done up as a spare for my '34 chev back in 1997 from M&M - was that you back then or Grazza & Jagged? Whoever it was did it for free when they found out about the Speedway connection! Hahaha! BONUS

I did a complete story on Morton and May years ago in our vintage mag. Amazing stat. is that the company has always been owned by Midget drivers.
