Cool What will make Proddy's Better!!!!!!!

As there is so much disscussion on other threads about the bad shape Production sedans are in, how bout we have some real, no s@#t hanging, ideas!
This is open for anyone who is involved with, or want's to be involved with productions, or anyone who has a constructive point to get across!!!!
As i will have a bit of spare time after next weekend, i want to know if it is worthwhile persuing some sort of avenue to get this class up and running!!!!

Re: What will make Proddy's Better!!!!!!!

That would make sense wouldn't it. I have been speeking to a few guys, and if injection was allowed, it would make the transition fron streety's, to production, to modifieds, a whole lot easier, and their would be a pyramid type ladder to climb!!!!

Re: What will make Proddy's Better!!!!!!!

my ideas woud be.

street stocks - as they are now..
Production sedans. - Same engine and computer etc as street stocks, or engines as they are now with carbys, but with the full bar work and suspension that proddies have. also quick steer, wider track ofest rims etc..
Modifieds, - as they are now.

there fore a person can buy a VN etc... or an EF etc... and begin in street stocks, progress to Production sedans, then finally progress into Modifieds if they wish... all with the same car.

Exactly what we were talking about. Then the step from streety's to proddy's would be only a few grand, and the same again, plus a bit more, to mods.
Slowly, but surely, you would end up with a fairly good mod prod over a few years. That is as long as the car lasted through the transition!! hahaha.

yep... just seems to be the most logical way to go...

blokes can stil have the cars that they have today... but new blokes can come from streeties with a few modifications and they can run with the proddy guys... then move on with more modifications...

SIMPLE AS!!

That's the whole point of it. I think every class will benefit, but to do so, they have to be allowed to run whatever body they want, and then meet the specs provided by each class!!!!!!!

Why build the latest model car if u have 2 chuck the engine away and put a 10 year old engine in it ????

Re: What will make Proddy's Better!!!!!!!

I run a 83 vh proddie, if I destroyed that car Im not so sure that I would want to find a26 year old body and build another, if I could run the latest body but use my same engine etc I would not have to outlay all the extra money on building a new engine as well. dare I say it, thats if v6 were allowed as well

if you are referin to building a VE or something like that.. i think you are missing the point...

the idea is for people that have built or are building a Vs or VT or EL or AU etc... that can be run in streetys now... then they can keep the engine and computer that that are runnin in street stocks and add the extras like suspension, bar work, bigger tyres, quick steer, wider track etc....
then race proddies.

then all they need to do is tweak up the engine bang in a motec or haltech wat eva... and race rubber and wala... a modified...

so a streety, a proddy and a mod all in one car....

yes,, you can still use your same engine. they new cars with the new engines. eg.. VS with an ecotch and injection still has to be std and run the std computer, yet your car eg a say you build a new VS as well. can run your 202 that has ( i assume ) been worked eg, ported head high comp etc... and still run a carby on it...

the lap times are pretty close...
you would be amazed..

Re: What will make Proddy's Better!!!!!!!

also the idea is not only for new people into the class but keep the people that are in the class happy aswel.... which might be hard but something has to be done...
