NSW State Late Model Title Races into Gunnedah Speedway this Saturday Night:

A competitive field of Late Models are primed to invade Gunnedah Speedway (North Western NSW) this Saturday night (March 15) to battle it out in the Tanelm Fuels supported 2007/08 season NSW State Title.

Close to 15 Late Models are set to make the trek to Gunnedah Speedway, and they are all looking to dethrone defending NSW State Champion Scott McPherson. Already this season McPherson has claimed numerous feature race wins, with the most recent being just a fortnight ago at Nowra Speedway, and the Canberra (A.C.T.) based racer also took victory in the Western Australian State Title earlier this year.

With the likes of current East Coast Series Champion and home town hero Ken Croft, Nathan Disney, and Darryl Grimson as the most likely drivers to challenge McPherson for the crown there is certainly going to be plenty of fireworks out on the Gunnedah Speedway. New faces to Late Model racing Greg Cassidy, Neil Wallace, Dean Smith, and Queenslander Paul Carlish are certainly considered as dark horses for the NSW State Title going by the form they have shown so far this season.

Amongst the other drivers in the field include veterans Barry Kelleher and Alan Oates, along with Stewart Jordan, Kevin Stevens, Lyle Dicker and Rodney Shute, who are all eager to post a strong result at the NSW State Title.

The NSW State Title is to be fought out with each driver contesting a total of two heat races, and then the Top 6 point scorers from the heat races will battle it out in a shootout for the Top 6 starting positions for the 35-lap feature race, which is to eventually decide the 2007/08 season NSW State Title winner.

Apart from some exciting and closely fought NSW State Title action, the East Coast Late Model Associates (ELMA) are going to have numerous giveaways for the Gunnedah Speedway crowd, which includes: Frisbees being thrown out to the crowd with the numbers of each car on them, and the spectators with the car numbers of the driver that retires first, or the last place finisher and the driver that wins will each receive a Casio watch valued at $ 150 each.

ELMA is also on the night at Gunnedah Speedway running a raffle that will see the winner take home a satellite navigation system from Casio that is valued at over $500.
