Re: Memorial race, compacts welcome! Hey Ripper i think you heard wrong! The Driving has been good! Small car numbers and a few mechanical issues at the start of the season but last 4 race meeting there has been 15 plus cars with Saturday night at Wang having 18 in the final and 17 finishing and alot of that was wheel to wheel!

Re: Memorial race, compacts welcome! Yeah Mike 75, but racing not as good as other years, wheres all the good drivers gone, heard rumour that Robotham not racing this class anymore, is this true? He was always great to watch. I agree you had numbers at Wang but wheres the speed, some of those guys need to step it up ALOT mate. I often watch your compacts however mate whats happended to the standard of driving. There is also rumour going round thats there no prize money this season, so wheres the incentive for drivers to get up the front and win, especially when some would have more trophies than they know what to do with.

Re: Memorial race, compacts welcome! Plenty of good drivers mate! All just getting and finding there feet! Ripper in short here are the answers.....Robotham not racing in the class anymore? Only Pete knows but l can confirm his car is nominated for Saturday night someone else may be in the seat! Will be at Australian Title as well! Pete's great to see at full flight with the elbows up! The guy knows how to wheel a car around... it would be great to see him in a Midget or Sprintcar if he got the opportunity. Driving Standards....well if we go off saturday night there was 3 and 4 wide racingin the final with one caution period so l think the driving standards that night were pretty good! Prize Money.....Yep no prize money! The club and Drivers voted at the start of the season to spread it across all teams during this time of hardship due to the Global economic crisis with prize money only up on some events. Is this whats stopping the "Good" drivers from coming out? Im going to say no! As every driver lve spoken to tells me its for another reason. Plenty of incentive mate to win if thats what you want to do!

Boys Boys Boys Well must say I agree with comments from both Ripper and Mike, however I have been watching most comapct meeting this season and I agree with Ripper the guys that are out there this season just dont have anywhere need the speed of other drivers, you watch the likes of Robotham & Stainer, they get out there from rear and are ahead of the rest of the field by at least half lap, cmon guys lift up the competition. It must be pretty boring for your top 2 drivers when they have there own seperate race as no-one else is up there which is a shame. As for the comment of economical crisis, if thats the case and people are finding it hard to work on cars and upgrade wouldnt you think that the would appreciate prize money to help with buying bits and pieces for their cars, no prize money how do they afford to get tyres and work done to their cars!!!!!. At the end of the day Im allowed my say and all I hope is that drivers step it up. Another thing noticed you dont have many tracks this season or should I say variety of tracks which is a shame. As for Robotham not racing, I heard the same thing I know he is doing Aussie Title but thats it with compacts. Shame to see one of your better drivers leave your class.

Re: Memorial race, compacts welcome! Flame good points an you have no argument from me here that ever driver has to lift to catch up to 2 great drivers! Prize money situation with the contingency sponsors and increased tow money every driver now has more money coming to them than what they have had in the past so to help them step up! Its not much but......you have to start somewhere. Maybe its not right but at the start of the season the club agreed it was the right direction to go in but like every season it will come under review! Sometimes you have to look after the welware of the club as a whole rather than the top 5 and this is what the club voted on it wasnt a personal issue as rumour may have it. Those top guys are fast no question you dont go to a lightening sprint title in underpowered cars and get great results if you arent! It is a shame if they move on but we have had plenty of great drivers over the years move on to spread there wings! No pun intended!

Re: Memorial race, compacts welcome! Hey Mike You mentioned the club voted on no prize money, from what people are hearing there wasnt many people there to vote, any chance you could check your minutes and post how many actually voted. The welfare of the club you mentioned but isnt it supposed to be a non profit organisation? Great more tow money this season to help guys step it up, your nearly at the end of the season who has stepped it up. Hear drivers are getting new cars ready but without self starters, what the??????? Backwards they need to be going forward. yOu mentioned "plenty of incentive to win" please explain what incentive there is, what another trophy to collect dust

Re: Memorial race, compacts welcome! Hehehe Ripper plenty of people at the meetings mate! Like l said a vote was taken and thats what the club thought at the time was a good move. If someone has an issue mate maybe they should come to a meeting and voice it in the correct forum coz at the moment no one has! Ripper Walfare of the club hasnt anything to do with money in the bank! Its about encouraging guys to come out and have abit of fun and get themselves and there cars dirty! If people want to win and have the drive to win it doesnt matter what money they run for they will spend it to get there. Asks the guys that dont have a trophy the same question mate you never know they might just want the trophy! As l said in an earlier post the club voted for this direction and no doubt it will be reviewed like it has been in years past who knows? But lm not going to get in a slanging match here mate come and join the club and put your ideas forward l look forward to your input.
