Carlson Takes Out Back-to-back Sydney Street Stock Club Championships:

The ever consistent Shane Carlson (Ford Falcon) last Saturday night (June 20) at the Rooty Hill RSL took out the Sydney Street Stock Club Championship for the second season in succession at the annual Sydney Street Stock Presentation Night.

In a battle that came down to the very last round, the exactly the same scenario as the season before, between Carlson and Glenn Mitchell (Ford Falcon), the Sydney Club Championship was claimed by Carlson by the slimmest of margins.

Once again, Mitchell missed out on the Sydney Club Championship by only a handful of points, but he will certainly be back chasing the Sydney Club Championship next season and is hoping that it’s third time lucky.

Finishing third in the Sydney Club Championship was one of the most impressive driver’s of the season in Adam Brook (Ford Falcon). Brook in only his first full season in the Street Stock class, showed that he has what it takes to challenge for the Sydney Club Championship and next season he is one to keep an eye on without a doubt.

Not only did Brook finish third in the Sydney Club Championship but he was also voted as the ‘Driver’s Driver’.

Greg ‘Boom Boom’ Bayliss (Holden Commodore), who finished fourth overall in the Sydney Club Championship, was awarded the ‘Best and Fairest’ driver.

The ‘Rookie of the Year’ honours were taken out by teenager Emma Darcy (Ford Falcon).

In the best presented car awards went to current Australian and New South Wales RSA Champion Brett Mitchell (Ford Falcon) and Richard Elliott (Holden Commodore).
