Craig Vosbergen Heading Stateside in the Aus #8 Rocket
It’s that time of the year again when Team Vosbergen Racing (TVR) driver Craig Vosbergen heads to the USA to join his USA team mate Doug Drown from Wooster Ohio. Craig will again base himself from the Drown Racing headquarters with his Rocket, Transporter & new Malcut race engine as well as a fleet of spares to run the tough month on the road. For Craig his 4th racing visit should be a smoother run, now knowing what to expect each time he unloads from the DDR transporter from pulling a pill at the entry gate to making the all important show. The Oz #8 will run a similar color scheme to his ride in Australia with powerful support from R2C Competition Series filters, Valvoline, Genesis Shocks & Hoosier as well as the Graphics and Body Wrap put together by Tom Crow at Crow Design. A busy 18 race program will keep the boys from TVR on their toes including running the much anticipated UMP Summernats also known as “The Hell Tour” as well as World of Outlaw Shows, Lucas Oil Shows & Monster Dirt Late Mode Events. Craig won’t be on his own, he will have by his side his regular #8 crew of son Brent Vosbergen who over the years has turned out to be a valuable part of Craig’s racing program. As a full time employee of Racin Tyres in Maddington WA, Brent’s knowledge of products distributed by Racin such as Hoosier Tires, Genesis Shocks, R2C Competition Filters & Rocket Chassis will play a big part in Craig’s race program. Jay Marchesani who has been an important part of the TVR team for several years now will also be heading state side for the first time to gain valuable experience on the road & who can forget Craig’s #1 supporter Dad “Big Bad Bert” Vosbergen will also be on hand to rally support behind his son. Speaking with Craig recently, you couldn’t help but feel the excitement about this trip “Bear, we have never taken on anything like this before, in previous years we would probably call our visits to the states a racing holiday, this trip is going to be a hard slog with 18 races in 30 days planned. We are all looking forward to it as we have a great bunch of guys at Down Racing that have prepared me the best racecar that I have ever had so just can’t wait to hit that start button and get dirty!!. It something that we have never experienced before racing this many times in a short period and I am just hoping for some solid results once I get settled in, making a few A mains would be awesome for the team. We are under no illusion though having picked some of the toughest series & races to compete in but I am feeling more confident in the whole package than I have in previous years……so let’s wait and see what happens J” Craig’s tour would not be possible without support from the following companies R2C Competition Series Filters, Rocket Chassis, Valvoline, Hoosier Tire, Genesis Shocks, Crow Design, Drown Race Bodies, Wrisco Industries, Malcuit Race Engines, Xtreme Pix, Hooker Harness, Poskes Performance Products, CamAir, BCM Motorsports Marketing & www.teamvos.com You can keep up to date on daily results by visiting www.teamvos.com & clicking on the TVR USA 2010 link. Most of the races where Craig will appear will have the results listed in the "Late Model results" page on www.4m.net . I can tell you that the schedule that they have selected is a very ambitious one with heaps of competition at every venue.
---------- Post added at 10:18 ---------- Previous post was at 10:14 ---------- BTW Good luck Craig. How about you change your schedule and show up at the Summer Nats finale at Oakshade. It would be great to see several of my "downunder" friends. Allan B. should be on hand. |

WOO Teamvos Update
Sorry about website not being update, been trying to get it done since I got back to OZ but been busy playin catch up with work etc. Had mixed results in my WOO races which were the last ones we planned to do: Clearfield PA - Qualified badly but mad a few positions in heat race and got to transfer spot in B main and got crunched from inside and outside at delaware restart with 2 to go which left us I think in 4th and just missing out on the A. Sharon OH - Qualified 3rd in group on first night and had a pos 4 start in heat which we were real happy with then got rained out. Postponed to next night but they start program all over just in case new cars show up. Didnt qualify as good but got 5th in heat which had me pole in B main, finished 3rd but didnt go directly to scales when leaving the track got back there within I reckon 30 seconds and was 60lb over but got DQ'd so that was dissapointing. Spoke to a few drivers seems like everyone has a similar story at one time, I know it wont happen again!! Attica OH - Qualified good on a rough track with big cushion, discovered that after qualifying my radiator was shoved back through engine fan by a big clump of mud which was a rush to get back on track for heat which we started 4th in heat but car had no left lock due to rack hyd ram being bent from same incident in Qualifying so flew of the track in turn 1-2 first corner luckily no wall there at Attica. retired for night after that. Muskingham OH - decided to give ths show a miss as was leaving for home day after and with damage at Attica and having to clean & get car & spares ready for storage until next year was always going to be a mad rush....couldnt help ourselves and still went for a look though!! Will get a round up of the other races we did (16 in 30 days) over the next week and get it posted. Cheers Craig V. |
