Re: speedway kart series It's been discussed before with little success. It would take a lot of organising and support from competitors. It's a good idea but no one has managed to pull it off yet.

Re: speedway kart series There are a few of us who are still on this very subject as we speak i for one am very interested in getting this off the ground i have gone over various ways in wich to run the series i think that we need to start off with a basic series using the standard clubman and open clubman class or run both together these classes have the biggest numbers across the country (outlaws will follow later if numbers are there) people wont travel unless there is a title or $$$ on the line, therefore you would need to be a contracted driver to the series with a sign on fee of say $250 (this does not include your race entry at each round) this will help build up a pool of money for the winnings at each round and end of series champion (top 3)??? plus maybe a major sponsor and get a speedway magazine to help follow the series. I thought of calling it the Eastcoast Speedway Kart Series 1 Round in Gatton Qld, Moruya NSW, Broadford and mildura Vic, thats 4 rounds at 4 completely different tracks if we can get 10 (plus) from each state to sign on this would work that would give us a pool of $7500 at each rond top 3 will recieve $500 1st, $200 2nd, $100 3rd, at the end of the series the champion will recieve $2000 , 2nd $1000, 3rd $500 this will leave $800 putting that towards trophies and a set of Burris tyres to the best presented Kart and team, the running of bodies would be recomended to help advertise the series nothing better than a full field of speedway karts running the body this will go well in the speedway magazine its all about promotion to keep the series healthy there is more but that is the jist of it so tell your club members and let me know of any interest

Re: speedway kart series I looked into this a year or 2 ago and came to the conclusion that it is not really viable. It all sounds like a good idea on paper but when you go to ask people if they are really actually interested... they are not. you might get 1 or two people interested but then it really dries up. I think the reason is that karts are very much a budget class and most people do not have the time or money to go on the road. The only way it would work would be to have a series that runs over 3-4 strait nights. It would have to be around the summer holidays. Similar to the Oval express series. For example night 1 Nyora 2 Broadford 3 Laang 4 Mildura I think you will struggle to get enough people to pay an entrace fee to go on a long series and then have to turn up to tracks and pay again. I would love nothing better than a series but it would be tough... just my take
