American Tour Kicks On for Lines this Weekend:
Fresh from a strong performance during the Ohio Sprint Speedweek Series last weekend; Australian Steve Lines will this Friday and Saturday night (July 3 and 4) venture over to Lernerville Speedway and Mercer Raceway Park to continue his American Sprintcar tour.
Although Lines has previously competed at Lernerville Speedway (Lernerville, PA) he has no previous experience at Mercer Raceway Park (Mercer, PA) and the current South Australian champion is looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of his AUS # 45 Camden Neon Signs supported Maxwill Racing Engines prepared 410ci Chev powered J&J machine.
“We were scheduled to run last Wednesday night at Hagerstown Speedway (Hagerstown, MD) for a round of the PA Speedweek Sprint Series but that was unfortunately cancelled due to the wet weather,” Lines commented. “I am very much looking forward to getting back to Lernerville Speedway and trying to improve on my result from the last time I competed there which was last year (for a round of the All Stars Sprint Series where he was strong in qualifying and won his heat race and finished the feature race in 17th place) and to be honest I don’t know a whole lot about Mercer Raceway Park other than what I saw of it [the track] from the road when I drove past in the race truck just the other day.”
After running this Friday and Saturday night; Lines will then head over to Sharon Speedway (Hartford, OH) on Tuesday night, July 7, for the annual Lou Blaney Memorial and the following weekend, Friday and Saturday night (July 10 and 11), he will re-join the All Stars Sprint Series trail by contesting rounds at Hartford Speedway (Hartford, MI) and Butler Motor Speedway (Quincy, MI).
