Britten Makes Impressive V8 Super Sedan Debut

Britten Makes Impressive V8 Super Sedan Debut:

Queenslander Peter Britten is more renowned for his talents in AMCA Nationals and more recently V8 Dirt Modifieds. On Saturday night at Toowoomba’s Charlton Raceway he stepped out of his comfort zone and made his V8 Super Sedan debut in the first round of the 30/30 event.

The inaugural 30/30 event was certainly a daunting prospect to be making your V8 Super Sedan debut when he teamed up with local Adam Bradford driving his # 68 QLD JBR Motorsport supported Sweet machine. However, the pair of Bradford and Britten put together a consistent performance by ending the twin 30 lap feature races on the podium in third place in what was a fantastic result.

As one would expect Britten was both surprised and thrilled with getting a place on the podium with Bradford especially considering the high calibre of driver’s competing in the 30/30 event.

“I couldn’t have hoped for a better result to complete my V8 Super Sedan debut and I am very glad that I was able to bring home a podium finish with Adam [Bradford],” expressed the 21-year-old. “The whole aim for the night was just to be as consistent as possible and learn with every lap I turn. There was definitely a lot of pressure on me going into my drive in the second half of the feature race as Adam had done so well to get the car up to third and I didn’t want to let him down. Thankfully I was able to rise to the challenge and maintain our spot on the podium.”

The 30/30 event format saw two drivers share the one car throughout the night. There were three heat races leading into the feature race. Britten competed in the opening heat race and finished in fourth place, while Bradford drove in the remaining two heat races and finished in fourth and second place. The Britten and Bradford pair qualified for the opening feature race in third place and Bradford finished where he started in what was a solid drive. Britten jumped into the car for the second stage of the feature race and was impressively able to duplicate the result of Bradford.

This Saturday night (November 29) at Lismore Speedway in Northern NSW the second and final round of the 30/30 event is to be held and both Britten and Bradford are looking to repeat their opening round result.

For Britten the 30/30 events are going to be his only V8 Super Sedan endeavours for the 2008/09 season as his main focus is driving his new Troyer Chassis V8 Dirt Modified for which JBR Motorsport are the Australian distributors. For Britten his confidence levels are currently very high after he collected the inaugural V8 Dirt Modified feature race win for Troyer Racecars outside North America when he defeated Andrew Pezzutti and Luke Oldfield at Brisbane International Speedway earlier this month.

Britten would like to say a big thanks to the entire Bradford family for the opportunity to drive their car, and special thanks to JBR Motorsport and Matt Pascoe for all their ongoing support.

Great Work Pete

I reckon a few of the regulars need to take a look at the way this Kid conducts himself.

Top Notch Driver with a level head. And he is only still a pup.

Go get them at Lismore and go 2 better mate

Re: Britten Makes Impressive V8 Super Sedan Debut

we watched Peter race the week before at archerfield when he won the feature with ease with his broken foot. awesome drive, the throttle control and the line he drove was what won him the race.
but we knew before that that Bradford was lined up with one of the best drivers as a co driver. Britten is one of the smartest drivers out there and can pick the best line to drive on a tacky or slick track.
both Britten and Bradford drove smart consistant races and it proves that consistancy pays at the end of the night.
Britton has a big furture in whateva class he drives.

Re: Britten Makes Impressive V8 Super Sedan Debut

Spoke to Pete prior to Lismore, his Mod rolled on to his foot while he was weighing it for Avlon. Broke bone in top of his foot. He could still brake with his heel. To add to his pain he wrenched his thumb in the Toowoomba 30-30 round and ended up only being able to use one crutch. How keen is that. He still had plenty of movement and brake control so I dont think he was a risk to anyone.
