NSW V8 Super Sedan Title to be Fought out at Gunnedah Speedway this Saturday Night:
For the second season in a row the NSW V8 Super Sedan Title is to be held at Gunnedah Speedway (North Western NSW). A field of some of the country’s best V8 Super Sedan drivers will be vying for the NSW Title honours this Saturday night (December 6).
The defending NSW Title holder is Wayne Brims is he is no doubt looking to make it back-to-back victories and the Northern NSW hard charger wants to keep the NSW Title in its own state.
Although Brims is one of the NSW Title favourites he is certainly going to have some stiff competition. The likes of former multiple Australian Title holders Mick Nicola and Ron Pyne are amongst the challengers, and then there are drivers such as Brad Smith, Ian Brims, Mick Doblo, Matt Pascoe, Wayne Miles, David Gartner and a host of other out of town visitors who all have their sights set on success.
In terms of the local runners that are looking to make the NSW Title their own there are drivers such as defending NSW Series champion Lachlan Onley, Tony Barklimore, Brett Hignett, Michael Hickey, Brett Smith, Barry Towers and many more.
There is an expected field of 30 plus cars for the NSW Title that will fight it out for 20 places in the NSW Title deciding feature race.
The NSW Title race format is three qualifying heat races for each driver, a last chance B-main, and the all important NSW Title feature race.
Gunnedah Speedway promoter Barry Towers is holding an open practice night on Friday night (December 5) for anyone wanting to get some laps down in readiness for the NSW Title. Spectators are more than welcomed to attend and entry is free.
Supporting the NSW Title action are the ‘Ford VS Holden’ Street Stocks, AMCA Nationals, 2 Litre Sedans, Junior Sedans, and the ‘Crash and Bash’ Fender Benders.
Admission prices for Gunnedah Speedway on Saturday night are $20 for adults, $12 for aged pensioners, $12 for students aged between 16 and 12 years, and children under 12 years are admitted free providing they are accompanied by a paying adult. A family pass is $56 which includes two adults and up to three students.
