V8 Dirt Modified Street Carnival Tonight
20/01/2011 12:20:33 PM - Lismore Speedway PR
Race fans have a great opportunity to meet and greet some of the title contenders for the Jobrow Enterprises Australian V8 Dirt Modified Championship when a huge Street CARnival is held tonight in downtown Lismore.
A greater part of Magellan Street will be closed off to traffic – but certainly open to the general public – to view the speedway display heralding the most important event on the national V8 Dirt Modified calendar.
Over twenty drivers, cars and race teams will be on hand to mix with the general public, while other attractions include face painting for the kids.
One of the eagerly anticipated attractions will be the dunk-a-driver “contest” where onlookers get the opportunity to hit the target that drops the participant from a bench into a water tank.
Word is promoter David Lander also has been selected to “take a dunk” in the spirit of CARnival activities.
The Summerland V8 Dirt Modified Club have worked long and hard to put together the Street CARnival which officially commences the 2011 Jobrow Enterprises Australian V8 Dirt Modified Championship weekend.
Australian title merchandise will be on sale at the display, while grid draws for the opening night of heats also will take place.
The 2011 Jobrow Enterprises Australian V8 Dirt Modified Championship will be conducted over two action-packed nights.
Friday, January 21 will see the qualifying heats contested in the build up to the National Championship Grand Final that will be held on Saturday evening, January 22.
