Houston we have a problem
Professor leadfoot is confusing people
But not me
With regards to the M&M Vauxhall i seem to think this was originally Ron Ward's car, just maybe.
NSW "B" Grade Speedcar Championship 12 Laps. 17/2/1973 S.Showground.
Ron Liddell--#52. Repco Holden.
--- Hugo --#11.
Paul Burke--#99. Holden.
Of interest Sid Middlemass started from Pos:#17,maybe they were trying to fix a problem with the car.
Junior Speedcar Championship of NSW.9/1/1960.S.Showground.
Look's like only 2 finished out of 5 starters.
Tony Burke--#6. Ford "A"
Hilton Mcgee--#48. 2Cyl. Special.
Leadfoot there are two glaring errors on that list.
How about telling us Chris.
I think the result for 66/67 is incorrect.Bayles drove #62 replacing Max Monk in #21 from pos 12.Ron Isbill won the race in #61 from pos #1.he was originally listed in #12 Madden Holden, other placegetters were Don Read & Garry Rush.
Spot on, MM. Don't know what was in my glass when I Jim Bayles in. Your right. Ron Isbill in 61, Don Read in 83, Garry Rush in the Repco 24, and Ray Platt in Ron Wards little blue #3. Thanks. List now changed. Still waiting for Chris.
Midget minor thanks for the correction 72/73 I WAS USING MEMORY more than anything Excellent work
Not quite correct Bill,in the mid to late 60's as some point the Showground had a season pointscore for B-grade,it was i think called "The Graduation Races" how many seasons it lasted i don't know also i'm sure Golden Fleece aka H C Sleigh presented at least one of the trophies.
Thanks, MM. When I researched that year, programmes surfaced with no results pencilled in. Further research from drivers in that era informed me that they think that it was cancelled from lack of entries. Ony five cars were programmed, and by race time, only three could start! I guess you have found a programme with results??
You must be Ron Liddell, MM. hehehe.:classic: Thanks again. Another to add to my uncomplete list. The Hugo driver is Max Hugo. He cut his teeth out at Westmead as a stock rod driver then ventured into the midgets.
See, guys, how difficult getting the history right??? Try going back to the 30's for info when there is NO help from old timers. Most have unfortunately passed on.
