    -----------------------------------------------------

Peter Britten was very unlucky leading the whole first segment until during a stoppage with 4 laps to go the right rear went flat...

Robbo had a big hit into the wall with the back end of the car after moving from towards the back of the pack to 5th or 6th... quite a bit of damage... (i got the whole thing on video so keep an eye on youTube this week)

Luke Oldfield drove a faultless race was in second the whole 1st race till Britten had the flat then was never headed... it almost came unstuck during the poll shuffle though after Luke and Pezzutti came together with Luke hitting the wall had and losing a front wheel - Pezzutti's car the rear was fairly crushed... as for fault it was deemed a racing incident... as I saw it Luke pulled down just as Pezzutti 'flicked' the car sideways into turn 3... other people may have a different view...

another weird incident happened in the first heat where Luke Oldfield was leading with mark Robbo in second on a very wet track... not sure if either luke slowed or robbo just got some good bite.. but Robbo hit the back of luke cars quite hard (nose to tail) Luke continued Robbo spun and 3 cars hit him...

The track was awesome... smooth and fast... the center groove got a little slick in the modified feature but still produced two lane racing... crowd was huge... good night all in all!

matt's car was too tight in both races. did a good job to finish second in the first 25. started the 2nd 25 and the car didn't stick on the top. dropped back to 5th. got to the bottom and was making a move on Hamilton when they made light contact. broke Matt's steering arm and had to pull out. was lucky to get off the track, hence not being able to get off the track as far as he would have liked.

good drives by both Britten and Oldfield. Oldfield was definately alot racier then previous meetings. was holding on to Britten in the first 25.

Was i mistaken last night for thinking i was watching a demolition derby? And for a division using one way communication they sure took froever to get lined up. Why was it that even with a refuelling stop so many cars ran out of fuel? Was great track with some excellent racing by britten(why was he blackflagged by the way, then we hear he gets reinstated, did the officials have a brainsnap ?)Shame robbo had 2 accidents, but great effort considering he wasnt meant to be racing due to being unwell. Bring on the aus day weekend for the big 2 night show.

Luke Oldfield emerged unbeaten from the twin-25 lap main events to win the Mr Modified trophy at Lismore Speedway on Boxing Night.

Oldfield entered the event a strong favourite and continued his good form with strong performances throughout the night.

Consistency in both 25 lappers earned Jai Stephenson second placing overall in the series, while Peter Britten was placed third on results from both main events.

Stephenson finished fourth in the first feature race and second in the other event.

Meanwhile Britten was certainly one of the hard luck stories of the night. He looked a certain winner of the first feature race until four laps from the finish when his car blew a tyre. He had led from the outset of the race and was clearly the man to beat in the opening stanza.

His third placing in the second main event was little consolation, however was good enough to give him a spot on the podium for the overall series.

Mark Robinson, who had been struck down with a virus in the week leading up to the event, had a rough and tumble ride in the first 25 lapper.

Robinson had made good progress through the field after starting at the back of the pack before he crashed out of the event after he hit the retaining safety fence.

Oldfield was followed across the line in the opening feature race by Matt Pascoe and Andrew Pezzutti. In the second feature event Stephenson and Britten trailed Oldfield to the chequered flag.

Meanwhile Jeff Rose took out the Street Stock feature race, while Jordan Biviano won the Junior Sedan feature event. Other main event winners were Warren Dhu (Four Cylinder Sedans) and Anthony Chaffey (Dwarf Cars).

QUOTE NUFFY - Robinson had made good progress through the field after starting at the back of the pack before he crashed out of the event after he hit the retaining safety fence.

Yeah he did make excelent progress starting from 13th. He picked off each car one by one and was quickly making his way towards the leaders. I have no doubt he would of been there at the end on the podium.
It was unfortunate that he had got caught up in two incidents...... the first where what seemed car 17 had slowed rather quickly leaving Robinson no where to go but up his rear.

The second was very unfortunate...... he was able to establish a good line up high to overtake 4th and 5th place who were themselves battling in lapped traffic. Robinson all but had the pass exucuted when it looked as thou Pezzutti got shot out of the melee he was in and his right front or right rear was put directly in the path of Robinson, catupulting him skywards and rolling once along the concrete fence. It was neither drivers fault, just a racing incident.

Despite some major damage to the #9 Teo, Robinson will be ready to run the NSW title at Gunnedah in 2 weeks time.

Hard luck to Peter Britten who put on a good show at Lismore. It was unfortunate that he was forced to give up his lead and hand it over to car 17.

Whats that got to do with the price of eggs!!! ...... and how many bad nights has the other had so far this season???

    Congrats to Miss Modified....

Yeah he had a bad night, big woop - wrong place at the wrong time both times. It was dissapointing the end result but hey thats racing, life goes on.
The car will be ready to race by next weekend. Instead of dwelling on what happened, the car was stripped saturday night to establish what had to be done and now knowing what has to be done, Mark and the team will get on with the joys of racing. No point looking at it."

Another point is at least Robo made the effort to get out there and have a go instead of sitting at home.

Instesting to see that some are blaming Robo for Luke running up the back of him. Last time i checked it is up to the following driver to drive around the guy in front and not threw them.

from where i was sitting it looked like luke got baulked trying to muscle his way underneath a lapped car and jumped on the brakes hard as did mark, with mark coming off the loser in what could only be described as a racing accident.

Have posted a small hi lites package on youtube. You need to watch it in high quality as normal quality is blurry. In high quality it takes a while to download but when you hit play again it is so much easier to see.
