Portland & Drouin Speedway Clubs will have a presence at Rosedale Speedway for the Standard Saloon title this weekend & for Portland especially based on form already this season, they might just be in with a show through Matty Domburg & the inform Luke Dart.

Domburg has got away well this season with a win in the King of the Ring at Portland before crunching the concrete recently at Redline set him back a little. Still Domburg finds himself high in the points table for the Victorian Speedway Council Standard Saloon State aggregate chasing Chris Stewart, & a result at the title higher than Stewarts could catapult him even closer with plenty of racing to come this season.

Dart was a front row qualifier at the Chivers Memorial & looked good early before succumbing to mechanical failure whilst Cathal McCaughey finished in the top five of an almost thirty car field at the same event, showing that he is ready to mix it this weekend also & Paul Domburg is also somebody that can put in a strong performance so right through the list, Portland have some good strong runners.

Drouin drivers have had plenty of racing this season also with Travis Evans the strongest performer of the representatives so far whilst John Dike Jnr & Steve Attewell had a reasonably later start to their seasons & have yet to really pull the shovel out of the shed, so to speak.

Jeff Blencowe & Rob Bushell have plenty of laps under their belts & have set their sights on making it into the championship final as the goal for the weekend.

A good dose of experience drivers from both clubs should keep everybody else honest this weekend with this scribe tipping at least one driver from the nine will make the title race final.

    Portland Speedway Club

    14 Cathal McCaughey
    17 Luke Dart
    51 Matthew Domburg
    64 Paul Domburg

    Drouin Speedway Club

    37 John Dike
    58 Rob Bushell
    72 Steve Attewell
    77 Travis Evans
    97 Jeff Blencowe

The Victorian Speedway Council wish all the best to both Portland & Drouin’s representatives for the Standard Saloon title.
