Yea Lloyd is a great bloke and would be a great source of info. I have his mobile no if you want it just PM me. Other people that may be able to help would be Keith and Di Smith i think they live on the Murray river now not sure of a contact though.

    Greg, from my jaded memory.
98/99: 1st Tony Moule (Vic), 2nd Murray Atkin (Vic), 3rd Phil Reimers?
99/00:1st Tony Moule (Vic), 2nd Murray Atkin (Vic), 3rd Jim Kirkwood, 4th Norm Kennedy at Manjimup.
01/02: I recall it was decided over seasons points, may have been Peter C, Dean K or Chris Jones would have to check club history someone has that trophy sitting in someones cabinet at home.

Norm and Greg - One of the times that Tony and Murray came over from Vic for the state title Dad took 3rd place.
He was leading the points going into the feature but lost the pole shootout to Tony.
I can check through the trophies for a date if I have to.

Long time no speak Scotty! Hope your well.
As for being one of US get your Inside Speedway magazine out next week and make a call on that yourself.

Still out of the fold so to speak, but treated well by the VDMA club at Nyora Raceway when doing some media as requested of me by Ben Graham.

Super Rods in Victoria are still Super Rods.

In Victoria there was Super Rods, Sdav Rods both clockwise drive and both still exist today as they were. The group that came from Victoria and aligned with Dirt mods were the A Grade Hot Rods mostly comprising members of Nyora and Peninsula Speedway clubs.

Who can forget the 3 car Fastfit Exhaust team of # 84Hobson, # 7Travis Smith and # 21< --- i think, Brett Neylan!

    Plus # 12 Atkin in a Speedpro Engine Centre car, # 8 Geoff Hurst, Cowboy Colin Jones# 42 , Barry Cooper # 78, Mr Speed Matty Reed # 92 and father John before him, i think # 79 <---- i thinkKeith Goss and then Tim, Glenn Fitzpatrick # 53 , Bob Anderson # 2.

All these drivers were on the A Grade Hot Rod side of the fence whilst at this period of time drivers such as Chris Howard, Tony Koolen, Terry Whyhoon, Stan Marco were all in the SDAV Rod family.

On a couple of occasions two sides of the Victorian Rod contingent tried getting into the same fold and on others all three sides raced together in the Anti clockwise direction as they pushed to align.

At the end of the day, agreements couldnt be made and the Super Rods and SDAV Rods had a strong pull to remain as their own identitys with the history they had created.

As we speak today Super Rods had 28 cars recently entered at Avalon, Nyora had 15 Dirt Mods whilst there seems to be 19 active cars registered and SDAV Rods also have 19 active cars registered this season.

Brett Neylan was #27, Bob Anderson was #73 (when he was any good anyway), Harry Kipper was awsome to watch driving them things, they were my fav class back in their day. I've got a heap of Lloyds videos from back then, a few of us are gettin together & havin a old skool vid day (piss up), have got old speedbowl videos as well if ya interested Deano.

Mark Banks from Koo Wee Rup is restoring Bob Andersons Speed Pro car, to some degree anyway, he is going to race it as one of them Super modified vintage rockets, in its original war paint n all.

We have the original Glen Fitzpatrick #53 which was run by both Glen and my father Barrie on occasion. We now run it in with the vintage super mods. Our next step in the restoration is getting the body done and having the original livery.

Bob Anderson at one stage was definately # 2
Harry Kipper was much much much later in the A Grade side of the family

I used to tag along with Richard English and Harry as he raced SDAV Rods, I watched as they built their first A Grade Hot Rod car together at Mount Eliza where Harry lived at mum and dads.

Sure Im interested mate, just dont make it a saturday night re the video and piss up night lol
