They run Late Models 'Topless' in the states. Not sure what difference it makes myself. Maybe it makes good promotion "Come and see our topless race"

Do they race Dirt Mods in the US without the panels?

you can promote the class without having to go to extremes such as this.

dune buggies is correct, they wont look like dirt mods, im trying to picture them in my head, promoting is good yes........but ripping body panels of a dirt mod isnt going to achieve anything

lets rip all the panels of the street stocks so we can see what the drivers are doing behind the wheel

lets swap the engines in F500`s for bicycle peddles for a night

lets have the litre sprints run around the track with a basket ball net above their wing and give the crowd basket balls too try and toss into the ring as they run around

lets have sprintcars run without their right rear tyre and try to stay upright

    hmmmmmmmmmm

Let's allow Nags to babble on for a while...

    Oops too late! Ha ha.

A change is as good as a holiday sometimes guys - especially if the crowd likes it (don't know why here but....), and if the drivers agree.

I say leave the experimental stuff at Lismore to PANDA. It has often been said on these boards that Lismore is the frontrunner as far as V8 Mod racing goes. Why try and fix it if it aint broke.

i got no beefs with lismore or greg coombes..they both do wonders for the sport and the class..

but you can only take it so far....The panels are there for a reason..why take them off? how is that meant to promote the class or sport?

if you ask me it demoralises the sport.

i have no problem with adding some excitement to Modified racing, god knows we could use some of it. but what they are suggesting with this topless night is just silly, its not gunna look good and as far as it being a good thing... i don't think i would pay money to see it!

Gee some of you guys need to lighten up a bit.
Its a gimmick and gimmicks usually excite the punters on the hill and thats all that matters, besides they wont look a whole lot different to a topless late model.
    Good on yer Coombesy
Now what I would like to see would be a "run what ya brung" like the Yankee Modifieds do where anything goes, wings and things.. let the imagination go wild.
Now where did I put that 410 engine..........
