Took the Midget to the inspection day and it all past, but for the exhaust.
Where in the Speedcar 2012/2013 rule book does it say we now need to have rolled edges (3mm to 6mm) on the end of the exhaust tip.
Who made this rule up ?.
What a joke.......Exhaust rule is below.

    6.17 EXHAUSTS
6.17.1 All vehicles must be fitted with an exhaust system,
including an effective silencer, which must comply
with the individual track regulations on noise levels.

6.17.2 All silencers are to have a safety restraint chain
attached to the silencer so as to prevent it from falling
downwards. The minimum standard of the chain
required is a welded link of 3 mm steel. Alternatively a
clevis arrangement where the muffler and the exhaust
pipe have welded tabs bolted together (two off at 180
degrees, minimum ΒΌ inch high tensile bolt with steel
    locknuts) can be used.

6.17.3 Exhaust systems must be designed to create a
minimum fire hazard and a minimum hazard to other
    competitors.

6.17.4 Where exhausts exit over the top of the side nerfing
bar, the exhaust must point rearwards. Exhaust not
to protrude outside line of crash bar.

Yet another example of this fine organisation of ours inventing rules as someone sees fit. When are we going to stop worrying about all of this relatively silly and ineffective crap, and concentrate on issues of genuine safety.
The thicker the rule book - to more to potential / opportunity to cheat and manipulate for ones self gain. Hence to the detriment of our sport.
We need to simplify the rulebook in the interest of transparency, consistency, and making it more attractive to new investment

IN MY OPINION - our organisation is pretty much administered by people with vested interests with ego's to suit. Many of our administrators can, and often do, boast a long history of association, but are trying to preserve the past, rather than embracing the future.
    again IN MY OPINION
