Unhappy Tassie misses out on WSS 09/10 season
does anyone know why tassie was left off the callendar?

bit of a shame every round that was held in tas was good quality racing

i don't know why but i"m seriously disappionted. i thought that tassie supported both shows really well.

according to wss managment tassie missed out cause wss was close to securing a big free to air tv deal and this dictated the calendar and having two rounds in tassie a week apart didn't suit the tv deal.



sounds like a cop out to me

Read on another post that John Carr said he didn't have the budget to run 2 rounds and was planning to bring some usa drivers over

Teams didnt want to be in Tassie for over 2 weeks for only 2 nights of racing, its quite a big expense, Tassie was offered a 2 Night show over 1 weekend, but declined! So no round in Tassie for this year, and that round is now in Warnambool 2 days after the Classic in Jan!

If they had it over 2 night on 1 weekend l would be there for sure but not 2 nights over 2 weekends.

Now that's flushing money down the toilet, no return on that investment. The amount of money that two consecutive rounds of wws would pocket the same promoter would be huge.

Surly they could have had both rounds on one weekend, say friday night and Saturday night with Sunday as a rain date and even Monday if required. Teams would only have to be over for at most 5 days, most likley 3 !!!!!. Supporters have shown that they will attend no matter what night it is on.... you are right, sounds like a cop out.
Wow lets see, a couple of yanks or 12 of Australia,s best drivers, I know which I would prefer to see......12 not 2..

Sprinta that is excactly what was offered to Tassie, and THEY declined the offer! It was Tassie's call not WSS.

that is exactly right from what ive heard too.WSS offered that to them, but the promoter did not want to run it over one weekend only. Its a shame coz i think its a good event in Tassie.
